NO GHANAIAN ASSOCIATION IN FRANCE IS TOO SMALL NOR MUSHROOM. The President of the Ghanaian Community In France Rep. Council, Hon. Dr. Osei Mensah Michael has told Ghanaians that,no association showing a Ghanaian identity should be under estimated. In a speech at the GHANA@50 COMMITTEE meeting, he told Ghanaians that if we don't upgrade ourselves, nobody will upgrade us. He comforted progressists by saying that our community compared to those in the USA,Britain etc. remains young and even in an equal ratio, our progress will be very competitive. He made reference to our Chieftaincy structure,Pastoral boards, emblematic associations like GHACIF,GHANA UNION,GHANA RESIDENT ASSOCS and all our regional and ethnic associations
The Hon. Osei Mensah said that the French government itself recognizes the formation of associations by any two people regardless of their relationship for a specific purpose including the desire to affilliate or federate in wider umbrella associations.Once formed, even on the withdrawal of the second fellow if the last person wants to remain,his/her legitimity remains considered.According to him associations are not country's government but they are formed to serve people and not to Lord over them and until Ghanaians see it as such our smooth progress will be difficult. He advised Ghanaians to accommodate mutual shortcomings and breed unity and progressive solidarity amongst themselves. In his conclusion,he said that no association should be seen as small and no small service to mankind is too small.
He took the opportunity to announce the creation of The Franco-Ghanaian association in Toulouse with its forthcoming inauguration on the 30TH JUNE 2007.
