PURSUE MUTUAL INTEREST:PRESIDENT KUFFOUR.

The President of the Republic of Ghana and Chairman of the African Union H.E. John Adjekum Kuffour has opened the African Union/European Union Summit this 8/12/2007 at Lisbon in Portugal.

In his speech, he called on both Unions to build strong foundations for a new relationship based on mutual respect,trust and true commitment to pursue common and mutual interest.

In a response the Prime Minister of Portugal Mr. Jose Socrates said, Europe wanted a partnership with Africa based on shared vision and mutual respect.

The two leaders are on the same path of thought. We wish them success.
