CONDOLEEZA RICE COULD'NT COME.

The United States Secretary of State Miss Condoleeza Rice has cancelled her trip to Ghana. She has been retained in Washington for talks on Lebanon. Remember Bernard Kouchner had his in Paris this week in Paris. Let us all pray that nothing stops France President Sarkozy from making his historical visit to Ghana as scheduled for 26 JULY 2007. The agenda of their meeting carries a big weight for Ghana. The symbol is pathpaving.

SANKOFA,
in the Akan language of Ghana, literally means «go back and retrieve » . The symbol is based on a mythical bird that flies forward with its head turned backwards. This reflects the Akan belief that the past serves as a guide for planning and building the future.

This year marks an important milestone in the history of Ghana and we all need to acknowledge the toils of the country's founding fathers for their extraordinary vision, courage, devotion and sacrifice in the service of Ghana's emancipation in particular and the continent as a whole.
We have to be thankful for what God has done for our great nation for the past 50 years. We also have to resolve to do more to enhance the developmental efforts and unity of our motherland in consonance with our proverbial 'yen
ara y'asase nP.
This is why the formation of SANK OF A is very significant in that it will help consolidate the foundations of Franco-Ghanaian bonds and also explore other vistas towards developing our motherland.

Co-incidentally, the background of GHACIF website is the Sankofa symbol.So, SANKOFA association will be the background of the Ghanaian Community in France.
